In 1998, the Gallery Mint struck some concept dollars to give the media an idea of what the proposed new small gold colored dollar would look and feel like. It had the Liberty head motif on the obverse with an eagle on the reverse. About 70 of these were struck and 50 or 60 of those were distributed to the media.
The reverse die for that issue was not used after that. However, a similar die was made and used on subsequent Concept Dollar offerings. The pictures below show details of each of those dies.
